A Real Fantasy Comes True
Infinity Construction was pleased to be part in making one of our client’s family’s dreams come true. The start of this is with a family farm in Powell that is over 100 years old and the almost 100-year-old farmhouse on it. Our clients came to us with the idea of updating the house but keeping the original farmhouse charm.
Infinity Construction hired DK Levy Architects and Shae Designs to help with their vision and along with our guidance came up with what turned out to be a magnificent plan. The baseline was keeping as much of the original home as we could while modernizing areas necessary in modern life to function appropriately while integrating up to date efficiencies and technologies.
The largest transformation was to take one wing of the farmhouse and demo it down to the ground and add in a two-story grand kitchen with an eating area and windows that extended sixteen feet into the air. We then gave the master suite a palatial bath and increased closet storage for the master bedroom.
Since the owners both worked from home, we gave each a magnificent office with plenty of light and modern amenities. The laundry room was updated, and a tankless and recirculating hot water heater as well as a new efficient HVAC system was added. Then we added lots of modern lighting throughout to warm the interior of the house up, but in doing so kept the original arches and HVAC registers to harken back to the venerable character of this home.
But then, what home would it be without a great family room? So that is what we gave our clients along with a custom cedar mantle, slate hearth and hardwood floors. This home then received a full upgrade on the exterior to include new siding, soffits, gutters, roof, railings, concrete walkways, porch ceilings, and a grand rear screened in porch that featured a tongue and groove ceiling as well as a large format tile floor.
From the majestic master shower to the concrete tiles in the powder room to the Frigidaire induction air fryer oven, this house is packed with style and convenience.
