The Big Flip

Infinity Construction was contacted by our clients in Farragut to make the interior of their home more functional and bring it up to date. This project started off with altering the Bonus Room such that during this process the owners could both have a retreat and a place to work.

Since most of the main floor was to be reworked, including the Master Bedroom and their offices, this became step one. Along with that we did some much-needed repairs to the exterior of the house including major repairs to two Dormers, reconstruction of their columns on the Front Porch, jacking of the sidewalks to level them at the porch, new windows for the entire house and a repaint of the exterior that led to additional soffit, fascia, and gutter work.

Finally, we were on our way to the primary project in that we were flipping the whole right side of the house’s interior that included the Master Bedroom and Master Bath. Originally the house was set up for the Master Bath to be at the rear of the house, but this was not desirable for the owners and the entrance was at a very peculiar point.

We had our architects rework the main office on the front of the house and adjacent powder room and additionally flip the Master Bath to the mid-point on the house with the Master Bedroom now located at the rear. Now you would enter the Master Bedroom and have it open into a hall with a magnificent Master Closet and then an exhilarating Master Bath.

Part of the character to the plan modification was the Master Bedroom entry off the Living Room with the hall that was created that allowed for a transom above the Master Bedroom door. This set the tone for the new windows that opened the Master Bedroom to a view of the rear of the house and not the neighbor’s house that it previously had viewed.

We then constructed a spectacular Master Bath with a spacious shower featuring body sprays, a soaker tub with light fixture above, heated tile floors, double vanities, and magnificent counter tops with marvelous cabinetry. The Master Closet was divided into his and her sections and featured a pocket door and new lighting.

Throughout the main floor of the house, we added and refinished all the hardwood floor, added a spectacular tile foyer, reworked the old staircase and balcony of the second floor such that it was modern in appearance and added custom shelving along with new paint throughout. If that was not enough, we added new moldings, new French doors, additional lighting and a breathtaking foyer fixture and additional structural bracing to aid in the house’s strength and stability.

Most impressive is that we did all of this on time and on budget. The most rewarding part of the project is knowing that our clients love the work we completed and want us to come back next year to rework the exterior and add a screened-in porch. View our other projects here!
